everyone wants to know, how doyou make more money on youtube. well, today i want to share withyou guys eight ways that i make money off of my youtube,plus another two ways that i have coming up,and share with you guys how i was able to earn a fulltime income for my youtube channel after only havinga few thousand subscribers. that's coming up. hey guys, my nameis tim schmoyer. and it's thursday, which meansit's time to do some youtube

"can you direct meto any videos you made on how to understandin simple terms how you make money onmy youtube channel? for instance, do you get paidmore if you get likes, shares, and favorites on your videos? i love your videos."
great question. let me answer thatspecifically in just a second. first of all, i wantto tell you guys that i think the smartest way togrow a youtube channel in order to make money is to actuallyhave a business model wrapped around it. now, that doesn't make sense foreveryone, and 100% of the time. you know, there'sdifferent cases where just pure adsense that makes sense.
but i think a lot ofpeople who are pursuing kind of the traditionalaudience development method of growing anaudience, and subscribers, and getting viewersand fans here on youtube on their channel, andthen monetizing that, i think they're usually kindof narrow focused, and only thinkingabout adsense revenue. and i've already sharedwith you guys a little bit in a previous video abouthow you can make 120 times
more money from the exactsame number of views here on youtube, and i'll put alink to that in the description below if you want togo check that out. but that's really onlyjust one way of doing it. i want to share with youguys eight ways i make money. and the first one is adsense. and that is just when youtubecreators get a revenue split with google whenads are displayed on their video content,and a user or a viewer
interacts with that ad insome way, or watches it fully. so, no, you do not get paidor get any money for likes, for favorites, forsubscribers even. you don't even get paidfor views necessarily. you only get paid when aviewer engages with an ad. so they've clicked onit to go learn more, or they watch the fullad in its entirety, or they watch it forlonger than 30 seconds if it's a clickable ad.
or maybe there's adisplay ad somewhere around the video on the pageand they clicked on that. that's the onlytime you get paid, because that's when theadvertiser pays youtube. and then youtube then splitsthat revenue with the creator, usually on a 55/45revenue split, 55 of it going to the creator,45% of it going to youtube. but let me quickly give youguys a few other ideas for how i make money fromthis youtube channel.
number 2, beyond adsense, isi also have product sales. i have my ebook, "30 days toa better youtube channel." it just helps youguys in 30 days know how to grow yourchannel to be as highly subscribable as possible. i have video courseson how to grow from 0 to 10,000 subscribersin 12 months using the exact methods i usehere at video creators to do that exact same thing.
i have other courses. they're all linked updown there if you want. but i sell products directly. and i don't pitchthem in every video, but i do include themwhen it makes sense, kind of like i just did now. number 3, kind of going alongwith that, is consulting. various creatorsand small businesses pay me to evaluate theiryoutube channels for them,
to give them a review, to helpthem learn how to improve it. sometimes just only do a one-offcall, just one hour together. that's all it takes sometimes,over the course of like six months and i work withthem on an ongoing basis. and if that's somethingyou're interested in, link in the description below. number 4, i also dobrand deals here. maybe you guys have seen metalk about sites like famebits, and videoblocks.
and there's othersthat are coming up here to where thesecompanies pay me to talk about them, and theirproducts and services, as a part of my videos. number 5, there arespeaking opportunities that i get to doin various states, and even places aroundthe world, where they hire me to comespeak at their events, or to do a training for theircompany, or for their business.
come work with creatorsat their conference, or something like that. number 6 is that i also licensesome of my video content. not from this channelnormally, but from my family's vlogging channel wehave clips of cute kids doing their firststeps, and being born, and things like that. and there's brands out therewho want to take that content and make it a partof their commercials.
and so i licensethat content to them. and they pay me a fee inorder to use my video clips in their commercials and fortheir promotional campaigns. number 7 is affiliate marketing. sometimes in these videos italk about different products or gear. i'm not getting paidnecessarily from the brand to talk about them. but like if i'mreviewing the gopro,
like i did a few weeks ago, andreviewing that for vlogging, i put a link to it thedescription of the video where you guys can go check outthe gopro if it's something you're interested in purchasing. and if you use my linkand buy that product that i'm talkingabout, then i usually get a percentageof the sales back. so i'm affiliates withb&h photo, with amazon, and a lot of other stuff.
and at number 8 isi do have a page at patreon.com/videocreatorswhere a few of you guys are supporting me and video creatorson a monthly basis to kind of help make this sustainable,in exchange for some cool perks that i give you guys andsome cool hangouts that we do privately, just with youguys and me once a month, and some other stuff. so, again, that linkis down there below. and then two ideasthat i have that i'm
